Quality Hardwoods of Michigan is a hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl, and laminate distributor located at 1799 Northfield Dr, Rochester Hills, MI — founded in 1984 by Dave Solomich, who spent his career on jobsites alongside Michigan builders and contractors. Dave didn't just sell flooring; he worked the sites, understood the trades, and built relationships with the professionals who install floors for a living. That jobsite credibility is baked into everything we do.
Ron Fox, a key member of our team, brings over 20 years of hands-on flooring installation experience. When Ron recommends a species, a finish, or an installation method, it comes from two decades of actually nailing, gluing, and floating floors across Michigan homes and commercial projects — not from a product brochure. Mike Solomich, Dave's son, has been with Quality Hardwoods for over 15 years and now heads sales — and his role goes well beyond the showroom counter. Over those 15+ years, Mike has been out on jobsites with Michigan builders and interior designers, walking through active projects, reviewing plans, pulling samples, and helping select the flooring that fits the space, the design direction, and the client's vision.
